As we are well aware the 2008 race is now in full swing, and every candidate will claim they are the "Family Values and Morals candidate". However we live in a multi-cultural society where a family of Southern Baptists live two doors down from a family of Muslims and in the middle is a Gay or Lesbian family. 
      So for the sake of example let's take a typical Sunday morning, the Southern Baptist family will eat breakfast, get dressed and go to church, the Muslim family will go to their Mosque and the gay or lesian family will either go to their church or their choice of Sunday activities.
      Somewhere in the middle is the non-practicing Christian or the Atheist family who don't have the same religious values but still are productive members of society and play by the rules set forth by society and the rule of law.
      Are any of these ideas of family values and morals and lifestyles wrong? In my not so humble opinion, no.
They are certainly different from what most of us maybe are used too, but they are not at all wrong. The question then becomes his, how does Congressperson Soinso reflect and most importantly respect the family values and morals of these different families who don't share the same lifestyle, religion or lack of religion? 

      The answer to this question is quite easy when you give it thirty seconds of real thought, because no matter what religion or lifestyle that a family may or may not live they all share several things in common, their children, their finances, their family security and finally tolerance for their lifestyle or religious preferences. 

      We need candidates that stand up and say "I will not take the food out of the mouths of your children to support wasteful government spending, I will close the borders so that your children are safe from attack or have their future stolen by those who sneak across the border in the dark of night to steal their education and their jobs, and I will support your families choice of religion and/or lifestyle because I am not your moral dictator, you have a conscience for that."
